Freelance Eplan Designer – Remote

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Freelance EPLAN Designer to support our electrical design team on upcoming automation and control projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in EPLAN Electric P8 and familiar with German industry standards and documentation practices.

As a freelance EPLAN expert, you will be responsible for creating and updating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts, collaborating closely with our engineering and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical schematics and documentation using EPLAN Electric P8.
  • Create and modify control cabinet layouts, terminal diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Ensure compliance with DIN, IEC, and company-specific standards.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and automation engineers to ensure accurate integration.
  • Update and maintain EPLAN project databases and macros.
  • Prepare complete documentation packages for production and assembly.
  • Support troubleshooting and technical clarification during production and commissioning.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as an EPLAN Designer / Electrical Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of EPLAN Electric P8 (version 2.9 or newer).
  • Familiarity with EPLAN Pro Panel or EPLAN Data Portal is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of electrical control systems, industrial automation, and panel design.
  • Knowledge of German electrical standards (DIN / VDE).
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Fluent in English or German (German preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed vocational training or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience in PLC and control system documentation.
  • Experience with industrial automation sectors (e.g., machinery, automotive, process industry).

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
