Freelance Project Manager · Cleanroom Construction · On-Site

We are seeking an experienced freelance Project Manager to deliver cleanroom construction projects within regulated environments. This is a construction-led, site-based role focused on hands-on delivery rather than client-side coordination or facilities management.

The ideal contractor will have progressed from a trade or site engineering background (preferably electrical) into project management and will be comfortable running live construction sites.

Contract: 12 Months (Freelance / Contract)

Key Responsibilities

 

  • End-to-end construction delivery of cleanroom projects over a 12-month contract
  • Day-to-day site leadership, coordinating subcontractors, supervisors, and direct labour
  • Ownership of programme, sequencing, and site productivity
  • Control of budgets, cost reporting, variations, and cash flow
  • Management of MEP-intensive construction works, with strong electrical content
  • Ensure compliance with cleanroom standards, H&S, and quality requirements
  • Chair site meetings and drive issue resolution on live construction sites
  • Manage commissioning, snagging, and handover activities

 

Required Experience

 

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager on construction sites
  • Cleanroom / pharmaceutical / high-tech build experience preferred
  • Strong construction delivery background (not facilities-based)
  • Originating from a trade or site engineering background (electrical highly desirable)
  • Experience managing subcontractors, programmes, and site logistics
  • Comfortable operating in regulated environments
