Geo-Environmental Engineer - Contract
Greater Manchester | 6-Month Contract (Potential to Extend) | 4 Days Office / 1 Day Remote | No Site Visits Required
We are working with a well-established consultancy in the Greater Manchester area that is looking to bring on an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer for a 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong candidate who enjoys the analytical and reporting side of geo-environmental work. No site work-you'll focus purely on desk-based assessments and reporting, contributing to a wide range of development and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Desk-based preparation of Phase 1 to Phase 4 Environmental Reports

Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRA)
-
Hazardous Waste Classification and risk evaluation
-
Soakaway assessment and infiltration design review
-
Contribute to remediation strategies and risk assessments
-
Liaise with project teams, regulators, and stakeholders
What We're Looking For:

Solid background in geo-environmental consultancy or a related field
-
Proficient in UK contaminated land guidance and regulatory frameworks
-
Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
-
Familiarity with waste classification and groundwater risk
-
Able to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision
