Design Engineer – Substation & Grid Automation
High & Medium Voltage | Secondary Technology | Energy Infrastructure

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle – from early customer discussions and system design through to commissioning support, documentation, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Position Details:
- Planning and contributing to technical project execution and project management activities
- Acting as a technical interface between internal departments, customers, and external partners
- Selecting, designing, and integrating system components, including developing circuit concepts for complex energy infrastructure projects
- Creating electrical designs using CAE tools such as EPLAN or Engineering Base, with a strong focus on standardisation and real‑world applicability
- Supporting your technical work packages through to system testing and final acceptance
- Developing conceptual solutions in switchgear automation, grid automation, and protection technology
Your Profile
- Degree or equivalent qualification (Engineer / Technician) in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related discipline
- (Experience with substations or BESS is particularly advantageous)
- Genuine interest in energy systems and automation – suitable for both experienced engineers and those building on an existing foundation
- Solid understanding of protection systems, switchgear, and grid automation
- Motivation to take ownership of projects from design through to on‑site implementation
- Independent, analytical, and solution‑oriented working style, with a strong appreciation for teamwork in a collaborative environment
