Health Safety Environment Officer · On-site
HSE Officer – Data Centre Project - Netherlands - Freelance - ASAP Start
We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor / Officer to support a major Data Centre (DC) project located close to Amsterdam. This position focuses on the MEP packages within the data centre environment, while also requiring someone comfortable overseeing the civil aspects of construction.

Contract: 9‑month initial contract
Start Date: ASAP
Engagement: Freelance
Language: English-speaking required
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee site safety across MEP and civil works within a live DC construction environment
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits in line with NEBOSH standards
- Ensure compliance with Dutch and European HSE legislation
- Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors
- Provide proactive advice to ensure safe working practices during installation and commissioning phases
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, reporting, and corrective action tracking
Essential Skills
- NEBOSH-certified (essential)
- Proven experience as an HSE Advisor / Officer on Data Centre Projects. (Civil Engineering experience will also be considered.)
- Excellent communication skills and confident speaking English on an international project
- Ability to work full-time on site (no rotation)
- Strong stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced construction environment
Desirable Skills
- Liquid cooling experience
- Familiarity with MEP systems
- Exposure to civil construction works (groundworks, structural packages, etc.)
