Job Title: HSE Supervisor – Data Centre Fit-Out

Location: Belgium (project-based)

Contract Type: Freelance / Contract

Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)

Start Date: ASAP

 

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor to support a major data centre fit-out project in Belgium. This is a site-based, freelance position requiring strong oversight of day-to-day health & safety activities across a fast-paced, multi-contractor environment.

The role will suit someone with solid data centre experience, particularly within fit-out/MEP phases, who can operate confidently on-site, drive standards, and engage effectively with contractors and client teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and enforce HSE compliance across all site activities during the fit-out phase
  • Review and approve RAMS, permits to work, and method statements
  • Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety walks
  • Ensure contractors are working in line with project HSE standards and French regulations
  • Lead toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings (in French where required)
  • Monitor high-risk activities (electrical works, commissioning, confined spaces, lifting operations, etc.)
  • Support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
  • Liaise with project management, client representatives, and subcontractors on HSE matters
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HSE Supervisor on data centre projects (fit-out/MEP phase essential)
  • Strong knowledge of Local HSE legislation and site practices
  • Fluent French (spoken and written) – essential
  • Good level of English for reporting and client communication
  • Experience working in multi-contractor, fast-track environments
  • Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, or EU equivalents)
  • Ability to challenge unsafe behaviours and drive a positive safety culture

Desirable

  • Previous experience on hyperscale data centre projects
  • Electrical/mechanical background or strong understanding of MEP systems
  • Experience with commissioning phases
