Health Safety Environment Supervisor · Hybrid

We are currently seeking Freelance HSE Supervisor – Site Based – HSE support onsite for a major pipeline project located north of Bremen, Northwest Germany.

 

This is a site-based role supporting the execution phase of a large-scale infrastructure development. You would be working with the main contractor, delivering the construction, installation and commissioning for a major pipeline project.

 

Position: Freelance HSE Supervisor

  • Location: Northwest Germany (North of Bremen)
  • Contract Length: 12 Months
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Contract Type: Freelance
  • Work Split: 50% Site / 50% Office (Office in Bremen)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee on-site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Prepare and manage HSE reports and documentation
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project safety standards
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain accurate administrative and IT-based safety records

 

Required Experience & Background:

  • Strong background in HSE supervision within construction, installation or commissioning projects
  • Experience working in a construction site type environment is very beneficial
  • Any experience on construction projects for large scale infrastructure projects, is especially interesting
  • HSE qualifications covering (Sifa, SiGeKo, MVK, HVK, PA1, PA2, IOSH or NEBOSH all considered)
  • Solid understanding of site-based risk management and safe systems of work
  • Comfortable balancing field presence with administrative/reporting duties
  • Strong IT skills for reporting and documentation management

 

Requirements:

  • Proven HSE experience in large infrastructure or energy projects
  • Fluent English essential
  • German beneficial

 

The client is working as the main contractor, they have a large package of works for both onsite fabrication, and construction and installation for pipeline packages. You will be involved with onsite HSE supervision, safety fabrication support, supervision of site based teams, checking safety documentation and reporting to the HSE manager. You would be working from a site-based engineering and construction office.
