Housing Solution Officer · On-site
We are currently working with authorities in the Northeast who have got some exciting opportunities for Housing Solution Officers.
Within this role you will:
- Offer support and advice to individuals facing homelessness, helping them sustain their current accommodation or secure alternative housing.
- Work with clients to create tailored plans that help them prevent homelessness or secure suitable housing options.
- Handle a range of complex homelessness cases, building strong, ongoing relationships with service users to effectively prevent or relieve homelessness.
- Collaborate with other services, partners, and agencies to prevent homelessness, attend multi-disciplinary meetings, and drive coordinated action.
- Visit clients' homes or other relevant locations to assess cases, evaluate housing needs, and identify viable solutions to prevent homelessness.
You will need:
- Understanding of the legislative frameworks and statutory requirements related to homelessness prevention and the Housing Solutions Service.
- Awareness of safeguarding principles, Care Act assessments, and their implications for housing services.
- Knowledge of the Welfare Reform Act, the Housing Act 1996 (Parts VI & VII), and the housing allocations process.
- Insight into current challenges in social and private housing, along with a range of homelessness prevention strategies.
- Ability to think creatively and address challenging situations with effective solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, collaborate, and work effectively with other services and partners.
