We are working with a leading data centre developer/contractor delivering hyperscale and mission critical facilities across the DACH region. We are seeking an experienced freelance HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environmental compliance on a live data centre construction site, with an ASAP start.
Location: Frankfurt
Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
Duration: 12 months (rolling, likely extension)
Start Date: ASAP, within 1 month
Sector: Data Centre Construction
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead HSE strategy and implementation across the construction site
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with local DACH health and safety legislation and client HSE standards
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and ongoing HSE training to site personnel
- Investigate incidents, near misses and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with main contractor and subcontractors to ensure a consistent safety culture across all trades
- Report HSE performance to client and senior management
Requirements:
- Proven HSE management experience within construction, ideally data centre or mission critical projects
- Strong knowledge of local DACH health and safety regulation (Arbeitsschutzgesetz, SiGeKo requirements where applicable)
- Relevant HSE qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit, or equivalent)
- Fluent English essential, German highly advantageous given local regulatory requirements
- Right to work/freelance in Germany, Austria or Switzerland
