HVDC Electrical Engineer

We are currently collaborating with a client wanting to integrate wind energy from the North Sea into the mainland grid.

 

Location: North German, North Sea

Duration: 12 months +

Rate:€140 an hour

 

Specialists in engineering, installation, and commissioning of the HVDC systems, which include subsea cables, offshore platforms, and onshore substations will be a huge plus!!!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure technical specifications are met during system installation and commissioning phases.
  • Track progress and ensure timely delivery.
  • Support system testing, commissioning, and integration activities for the HVDC transmission systems, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with standards.
  • Provide expert support in resolving technical issues related to the HVDC system, including electrical faults, system failures, and performance inefficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system specifications, installation, testing, and commissioning reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

 

Ideally:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVDC projects (offshore or onshore) or similar power transmission projects
  • Solid understanding of HVDC technology, substation operations, cable installations, and power systems.
  • English & German is nice.

Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
