About the Role:
g2 Recruitment are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer who will be overseeing electrical engineering activities across multiple projects and supporting site operations. This includes technical leadership, contractor coordination, design review, and ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Location: Rotterdam
Duration: Freelance – initial 6–12 months, with likely extension
Role: Lead Electrical Engineer
Start: Flexible (within the next 4–6 weeks)
Working pattern: Primarily on-site
About the Role:
You’ll be overseeing electrical engineering activities across multiple projects and supporting site operations. This includes technical leadership, contractor coordination, design review, and ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design and engineering across CAPEX and maintenance projects
- Review vendor drawings, technical specs, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with multidiscipline teams and external contractors
- Support troubleshooting, commissioning, and modifications of electrical systems
- Ensure safety, quality, and documentation standards are met
- Advise on system upgrades and long-term electrical infrastructure improvements
Your Background:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years’ experience in industrial / process environments
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, protection, cable sizing, ATEX, etc.
- Familiar with Dutch/NEN and IEC standards
- Fluent in English (Dutch preferred but not essential)
- Available to work in the Netherlands as a freelancer
