Lead Electrical Engineer – Pharmaceutical Projects
We are seeking a freelance Lead Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in pharmaceutical projects. The ideal candidate will bring years of relevant industry experience and proven leadership on complex engineering assignments. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum presence of 3 days.
Location: Brussels
Languages: English, Dutch, and/or French (fluency in at least two)
Experience Level: Senior
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering efforts on large-scale pharmaceutical projects
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design and implementation align with industry and safety standards
- Provide technical leadership and oversight of all electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, project specifications, and GMP standards
- Support commissioning and qualification activities as needed
Technical Expertise Required:
- Interlocking systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Access control systems
- Power distribution: Normal, backup, and uninterrupted power supply (UPS)
- Lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Lightning protection systems
- Protective earthing and grounding
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the pharmaceutical sector
- Prior experience as Lead Engineer on multidisciplinary projects
- Fluent in at least two of the following languages: English, Dutch, French
- Strong knowledge of GMP and safety requirements
- Ability to work on-site 3–4 days per week(1-2 days remote)
