I am currently seeking a Freelance Maintenance Engineer / Electrician to support on an onshore cable carousel based in Amsterdam. This is a flexible, ad-hoc role suited to an experienced engineer or electrician with strong hands-on capability in marine environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth inspection, maintenance, and handling of cable systems and associated equipment on site.
- Contract Length: 12 months (Freelance)
- Location: Amsterdam (on-site)
- Engagement: Ad-hoc support 1/2 days per week (flexible working pattern)
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspections and maintenance of cable carousel systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment
- Support unloading and offloading of cables, ensuring safe handling and proper procedures are followed
- Provide hands-on electrical/mechanical support during project operations
- Identify and report any faults, defects, or safety issues
- Conducting insulation tests of motors and cables
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a shore-based engineer, electrician, or technician
- Background in cable handling, offshore wind, marine, or heavy industrial projects preferred
- Experience working with cable carousels, winches, or similar equipment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and maintenance practices
- Knowledge of maintenance software AMOS (desirable)
- English speaking
