Manager of Projects

G2 are currently looking for a Manager of Projects to join our client based in South Holland, Netherlands - Close to the Rotterdam

The client is a chemical plant operator, they are a global company with sites throughout Europe, Asia and The Americas. They are looking for a Manager of Projects to join their operational and projects site, supporting both local and international projects.

Manager Of Projects - Client Side - South Holland Region - Netherlands

Position: Manager Of Projects

Start: September, October, November 2025

Salary: €7,000 - €10,000 per month + competitive package (+8% holiday allowance, bonus scheme, holidays, pension scheme, company car)

Location: South Holland Region, Netherlands

Day to Day:

  • Management of technical projects, OPEX portfolio, 10-20 projects at any time
  • Coordination between technical engineering, projects and operational site team
  • Resource management for projects, engineering and turnarounds
  • Internal and external stakeholder management
  • Managing the full project lifecycle, planning, cost and risk management
  • You will ensure the preparation of resources loads, risk assessments project implementation, facility maintenance.

Essential skills:

  • 8+ Years of Industrial Experience, ideally working within a process industry sector (chemical, energy, petrochemical)
  • working experience with end client plant operators
  • Ability to manage people
  • Experience planning meetings, scoping, budgeting, preparation and execution
  • Ideally experience with OPEX projects, shutdowns or turnarounds (not essential)
  • A technological background in Petrochemical or Chemical processing is preferred
  • English Speaking is essential, a proficiency in Dutch is essential ( B2 and above )

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
