This is a freelance construction role, and previous freelance/independent contracting experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) activities across the data‑center construction site.
- Review design documentation, technical submittals, and installation drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications, Austrian building regulations, and EU standards.
- Oversee installation quality across HVAC, electrical distribution, cooling systems, fire protection, BMS, and associated critical infrastructure.
- Conduct regular site inspections, technical audits, and progress reviews across CSA and MEP work packages.
- Support commissioning activities, integrated systems testing, and final handover from an MEP perspective.
- Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and client engineering teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project delivery timelines.
- Monitor MEP performance, identify risks, and provide clear reporting to senior project leadership.
- Ensure all works adhere to industry best practices for mission‑critical facilities, including redundancy, resilience, and uptime requirements.
Requirements
- Strong MEP engineering experience on large‑scale construction projects, ideally within data centers, hyperscale, mission‑critical, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a freelance consultant.
- Proven experience managing complex MEP systems through construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems used in high‑availability environments.
- Familiarity with Austrian or wider EU construction standards and regulatory frameworks is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- EU/EEA/Swiss nationality and ability to freelance legally within the EU.
