Job Title: Structural Modeler – Maritime Team (Amersfoort)

About the Role

Our client is a leading civil and construction engineering consultancy with offices across the Netherlands, known for delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Their Amersfoort office is expanding its specialist Maritime & Water Infrastructure team, and they are seeking a skilled Structural Modeler to support the design and delivery of complex nearshore and coastal engineering projects.

As a Structural Modeler, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and project leads to produce high-quality 3D models and technical drawings for maritime structures such as dykes, quays, breakwaters, sluices, dredging works, and coastal protection systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and detailed 3D models using Civil 3D or Revit for maritime civil engineering projects.
  • Produce and maintain technical drawings, plans, and documentation in alignment with Dutch engineering standards.
  • Support the design of dykes, dredging layouts, embankments, coastal structures, and related infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, hydraulic, and structural engineers.
  • Ensure model quality, consistency, and adherence to BIM procedures.
  • Contribute to project planning, design reviews, and model coordination sessions.
  • Provide input on improving workflows, modelling guidelines, and digital delivery standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • MBO/HBO degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Revit.
  • Experience working on water-related or maritime infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of dyke design, embankments, and dredging operations.
  • Understanding of Dutch design codes and project standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design iterations.
  • Good communication skills in English; Dutch is a strong advantage.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with automation, such as scripting, Dynamo, Python, or parametric modelling.
  • Familiarity with BIM collaboration tools (e.g., Navisworks, BIM360).
  • Experience working within large multidisciplinary engineering teams.
