.NET Team Lead

Freelance .NET Team Lead - Hybrid | Long-Term Contract | Antwerp (Left Bank)

A well-established global logistics operation is seeking a skilled freelance .NET Team Lead. The outgoing lead will wrap up at the end of the year, with a required 1-month handover. You'll immediately take responsibility for technical leadership, delivery excellence, and team empowerment.

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in .NET (Core 6/8) LTS, with solid experience in Entity Framework
  • Mastery of Unit Testing
  • Expertise in Azure DevOps: Pipelines (CI/CD), Boards, Artifacts
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud services: App Services, App Configuration & Key Vault, Azure SQL DB, Cosmos DB, Application Insights, API Management
  • Infrastructure as Code using ARM or Bicep
  • Familiarity with Service Fabric
  • Effective deployment with Docker
  • Excellent track record in Agile/Scrum environments

Bonus Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Technical Lead
  • Working knowledge of Identity Server
  • Frontend capabilities with React
  • Mobile development in .NET (particularly Android via .NET)
  • Understanding of Hibernate (legacy contexts)

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority and liaison for cross-functional teams
  • Mentor and guide a distributed development team comprising developers, testers, analysts, and architects
  • Lead Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives), ensuring best practices and architectural consistency
  • Own end-to-end delivery - from coding, continuous integration/deployment, to production support and cloud infrastructure

Engagement Details

  • Location: Antwerp Left Bank, hybrid work setup (approx. 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
  • Languages Required: Dutch and English
  • Start Date: ASAP, with a defined handover period as the incumbent transitions out by year-end
  • Duration: Long-term freelance engagement
  • Interview Process: Two-stage screening conducted via an agency - initial fit and technical evaluation

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
