About the Role

My client is seeking an experienced Piping Design Engineer to join the engineering team for the development of a cutting-edge hydrogen production plant and thermal process facilities. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant piping systems in line with DVGW standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create P&IDs, isometrics, and detailed pipe routing models.
  • Select materials for H₂ service; specify valves, fittings, and gaskets to mitigate hydrogen embrittlement.
  • Support integration of pressure vessels and ensure PED/CE conformity.
  • Perform stress analysis and plan supports, expansion loops, and flexibility checks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with hydrogen service and familiarity with DVGW codes, TRBS, and BetrSichV.
  • Proficiency in piping design software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, SmartPlant).
  • Ideally fluent in German and English

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
