Project Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple European locations. This role involves managing onshore wind and solar projects from development through construction and commissioning, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Locations: Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris (with travel across Europe)

Employment Type: Freelance

Contract Length: 12 months +

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle for renewable energy projects across Europe.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders in Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Paris.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, risk registers, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained on all sites.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in renewable energy (onshore wind and/or solar).
  • Strong knowledge of EPC, BoP, permitting, and grid connection processes.
  • Ability to manage multi-country projects and travel across Europe.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera, MS Project) and HSE standards.

 

Preferred Background

  • Experience working with major developers or EPC contractors (e.g., RWE, BayWa r.e., Neoen, ENGIE, Iberdrola, Enel).
  • Technical understanding of wind turbine or solar PV installations.

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
