My clients are seeking experienced Project Planners to support major long-term engineering and construction projects on a freelance contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile projects, playing a key role in planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and stakeholder coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Create detailed project plans covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays or risks.
  • Produce regular planning reports, look-ahead schedules, and progress updates for project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Support change management, schedule recovery planning, and critical path analysis.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide planning support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner, Planning Engineer, or Project Controls professional.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Experience working on large-scale engineering, industrial, infrastructure, energy, data centre, or construction projects.
  • Ability to develop and manage complex project schedules from concept through to completion.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, critical path methodology, and progress measurement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English is required; Finnish language skills would be advantageous.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant.
