Job Title: Electrical QA/QC Manager – Hyperscale Data Center Project (Freelance, 12 Months)

Location: Germany (onsite)

Contract Type: Freelance / Independent Consultant

Duration: 12 Months (with potential extension)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Manager to oversee all electrical quality assurance and quality control activities on a large-scale hyperscale data center construction project in Germany. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data-center electrical systems, EU/German standards, commissioning processes, and vendor/subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and manage the project’s Electrical QA/QC program, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), checklists, and method statements.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant German codes (DIN/VDE), EU regulations, and hyperscale client specifications.
  • Review and approve electrical construction method statements, material submittals, and RFIs.
  • Lead electrical quality audits, surveillance activities, and site inspections throughout all construction phases.

Construction & Installation Oversight

  • Oversee quality of installations including MV/LV distribution systems, UPS systems, switchgear, generators, busduct, grounding, lighting, BMS/EMS integration, fire alarm, and other critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Verify contractor adherence to design drawings, QA/QC processes, and best installation practices.
  • Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and drive close-out and corrective actions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive QA/QC records, logs, and documentation to support handover and commissioning.
  • Produce weekly and monthly quality reports, highlighting risks, progress, and corrective actions.
  • Support turnover package preparation at milestones and project completion.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in Electrical QA/QC roles, with at least 3–5 years on hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of DIN/VDE standards, EU regulations, and international electrical codes.
  • Proven experience with QA/QC systems, document control, and commissioning workflows.
  • Expertise in MV/LV electrical distribution, UPS, generators, control systems, grounding, and data-center electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience with IST, FAT/SAT, and critical testing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of Tier III/Tier IV data-center design principles.
