Quality Assurance Manager

g2 Recruitment is working with a client that require a freelance QA/QC Manager to support ongoing and upcoming industrial projects in Germany.

The role will involve leading QA/QC activities on construction and mechanical installations for oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy transition facilities, ensuring strict compliance with industry standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project-specific Quality Management Plans in alignment with QA/QC framework
  • Oversee all quality control activities for fabrication, welding, NDT, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Coordinate and supervise QA/QC inspectors, subcontractors, and third-party auditors
  • Ensure traceability and documentation of all quality records and material certifications
  • Conduct internal audits and facilitate external inspections (client or regulatory bodies)
  • Lead root cause analysis of non-conformities and implement corrective actions
  • Report regularly to project management and client QA/QC teams
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, EN/ASME/ISO standards, and clients internal QHSE systems
  • Support the continuous improvement of quality processes across the project

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in oil & gas, energy, or large-scale construction projects
  • Solid experience with German/EU construction standards and international QA/QC procedures
  • Recognised QA/QC certifications (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSWIP 3.1/3.2, PCN, ASNT)
  • Strong understanding of NDT, welding inspection, material traceability
  • Proficient in quality documentation systems and audit preparation
  • Fluent in English; German language skills a strong asset
  • EU work authorisation or valid freelance status in Germany

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant.
