Senior Quantity Surveyor | Co. Dublin | Construction , Critical Infrastructure | Permanent

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take full ownership of the commercial and contractual functions across high‑profile construction projects, ensuring all obligations are met and value is maximised throughout the project lifecycle.

Location: Dublin

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day‑to‑day commercial and contract activities across assigned projects.
  • Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintenance of change order and claim registers.
  • Negotiate and secure best value in subcontract procurement and order placement.
  • Support the development and management of project budgets, feasibility studies, and cost plans.
  • Validate and approve subcontractor interim applications and final submissions, ensuring compliance with the Construction Contracts Act.
  • Lead pre‑appointment meetings with subcontractors to define scope, mitigate risk, and ensure alignment with contract terms.
  • Maximise cashflow through prompt submission of monthly valuations with full supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and submit Final Accounts, including claims for loss, expense, delays, and extensions of time.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of key construction contracts (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, etc.).
  • Ability to evaluate documentation and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • In‑depth understanding of construction processes, techniques, and systems.
  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability, and value‑driven mindset.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
