Race Engineer · Frankfurt

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Race Engineer to contribute to a large project dealing with the design and manufacturing of a Hybrid Cross-Country Rally Car.

About Us:

Our client is pioneering the next generation of cross-country rally vehicles—a hybrid platform designed for endurance, performance, and sustainability.

Role Overview:

As a Race Engineer, you will be the technical link between the car and the driver, ensuring optimal performance during testing and competition. This role combines race strategy, data analysis, and hands-on design input for vehicle components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize race setups for hybrid rally cars.
  • Analyze telemetry and performance data to improve reliability and speed.
  • Collaborate with design engineers on component development (chassis, suspension, aero).
  • Support trackside operations during testing and events.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Race Engineer in motorsport (FIA, WEC, Dakar, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and performance optimization.
  • Design/CAD experience (CATIA V5/V6, NX, or SolidWorks).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
