🚆 Freelance Railway Design Engineer – Stations, Platforms & Track Design (Germany Wide)
Location: Germany (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
Duration: Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension
G2 Recruitment are currently supporting a leading rail engineering consultancy delivering major railway infrastructure projects across Germany and are looking for experienced Railway Design Engineers with expertise in station, platform, and track design.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile rail projects involving Deutsche Bahn (DB) infrastructure and contribute to the development and modernisation of Germany's rail network.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and development of railway stations, platforms, and track infrastructure.
- Preparation and review of rail design documentation in accordance with DB standards and German regulations.
- Track alignment, station layout, and platform design activities.
- Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Support projects through various planning phases (HOAI and DB planning stages where applicable).
- Ensure designs comply with safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Experience in railway infrastructure design, specifically:
- Station Design
- Platform Design
- Track / Alignment Design
Strong knowledge of:
- Deutsche Bahn (DB) standards and approval processes
- German railway regulations and engineering requirements
Proficiency with:
- AutoCAD
- ProVI
- Revit
- iTWO
-Fluent German and English communication skills
-Previous experience delivering DB rail infrastructure projects is highly desirable
