  • Ensure compliance with maritime and electrical safety standards, as well as classification society regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers where relevant.
  • Support maintenance, retrofits, and system upgrades during the project lifecycle.
  • Work in a flexible arrangement, balancing time between Sliedrecht head office, Amsterdam yard, remote work, and on-site project visits.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in maritime, offshore, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of EMS and MCS systems, PLCs, DCS, and HMIs.
  • Experience with control logic design, wiring diagrams, schematics, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with maritime standards, classification societies, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent project management, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team on fast-paced projects.
  • Comfortable with a flexible hybrid/remote working arrangement.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.

What We Offer

  • Initial 12-month freelance contract with potential for extension based on project success.
  • Flexible work arrangement: hybrid between Sliedrecht office, Amsterdam yard, remote work, and on-site project engagement.
  • Participation in a large-scale, high-profile automation project starting in Q1.
