Eligibility: EU‑based professionals or those able to work freelance in the Netherlands
I’m partnering with a leading international data‑centre operator delivering a large‑scale hyperscale facility in the Netherlands, who is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Cost Manager to take ownership of cost management and commercial control across a complex, mission‑critical construction programme.
This is a senior, delivery‑focused role within a fast‑paced hyperscale environment, suited to a commercially astute professional with strong experience managing large CAPEX projects, cost control, and commercial governance across civils, MEP, and infrastructure packages.
Role responsibilities
- End‑to‑end cost management across the hyperscale data‑centre programme
- Cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management
- Commercial oversight of major construction packages (civils, structure, MEP, utilities)
- Change management, variations, and commercial risk control
- Reporting cost, risk, and commercial performance to senior project leadership
- Supporting procurement strategy, value engineering, and cost‑optimisation initiatives
- Acting as a key commercial interface between client, EPCs, consultants, and delivery teams
You will work closely with construction, design, planning, and contracts teams to ensure commercial control is fully aligned with programme, quality, and risk objectives.
Experience required
- Proven experience as a Senior Cost Manager / Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor on large‑scale data centre, mission‑critical, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Strong background in CAPEX‑heavy environments and fast‑track delivery models
- Demonstrated expertise in cost reporting, forecasting, risk management, and change control
- Working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke EPC contract forms
- Confident operating independently in high‑value, multi‑stakeholder project environments
