Senior Data Engineer

We are working with a major player in the finance sector. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team within the Affluent & Private Banking division, based in the heart of Brussels. You'll be part of a growing and forward-thinking team, where your expertise will directly support the integration of high-quality, business-critical data into a central platform.

Your Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with team members to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, reliable data solutions.
  • Design and develop prototypes to validate concepts with stakeholders.
  • Build and refine logical and physical data models, data stores, and implement industrialised data feeds and deliveries (data warehouses, data marts, datasets).
  • Optimise enterprise-wide data pipelines to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and performance.

Your Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Data Analytics or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in: Data modelling, ETL development, SQL Server and SQL scripting (transactional and procedural), Job scheduling and database management
  • Hands-on experience with SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Base is essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Background in the banking sector is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch, with a good understanding of English or French.
  • A true team player with a proactive approach, excellent communication, and strong stakeholder influence skills.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
