Planning Engineer · Hybrid
One of my clients in Germany are working on a large scale, power transmission project. They are looking for a freelance Planning Engineer to join them at the start of 2026 for an initial period of 12 months, with a high chance of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Integrate schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Track project progress against baseline plans and identify variances.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for stakeholders.
- Identify potential delays and propose mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate resource allocation and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure accurate schedule inputs.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including permitting authorities and subcontractors.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and project standards.
- Maintain accurate records of schedule changes and approvals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally in HVDC or power transmission.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience with underground cable routing and permitting processes.
- Knowledge of HVDC technology and power transmission systems.
- Familiarity with German permitting regulations.
