Site Manager – High Voltage Substation (Freelance / Contract)
Location: Germany (+- 80km Berlin)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Contract Type: Freelance
Rate: €110–€140 per hour (depending on experience)
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in High Voltage (HV) substation projects for a long-term contract opportunity in Germany.
This is an urgent requirement, and we are looking for professionals who are available to start as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage on-site construction and installation activities for high voltage substation projects (e.g. AIS/GIS)
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within scope
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and commissioning teams throughout all project phases
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and performance standards are met
- Ensure compliance with local health & safety regulations, environmental standards, and project specifications
- Monitor project progress, resolve site issues, and report to project stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within high voltage substation or transmission & distribution projects
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor on HV infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of substation construction, installation, and energisation processes
- Experience working on 220kV and above substation projects is highly desirable
- Ability to manage site teams and subcontractors independently
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Fluent German language skills (spoken and written) are essential
- Eligible to work in Germany (freelance or contract basis)
