Senior Site Manager · On-site

Site Manager – High Voltage Substation (Freelance / Contract)

Location: Germany (+- 80km Berlin)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Contract Type: Freelance

Rate: €110–€140 per hour (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in High Voltage (HV) substation projects for a long-term contract opportunity in Germany.

This is an urgent requirement, and we are looking for professionals who are available to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage on-site construction and installation activities for high voltage substation projects (e.g. AIS/GIS)
  • Oversee daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within scope
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and commissioning teams throughout all project phases
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and performance standards are met
  • Ensure compliance with local health & safety regulations, environmental standards, and project specifications
  • Monitor project progress, resolve site issues, and report to project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within high voltage substation or transmission & distribution projects
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor on HV infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of substation construction, installation, and energisation processes
  • Experience working on 220kV and above substation projects is highly desirable
  • Ability to manage site teams and subcontractors independently
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluent German language skills (spoken and written) are essential
  • Eligible to work in Germany (freelance or contract basis)

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
