Shipbuilding Project Manager & Engineer

We are currently seeking a Project Manager & Project Engineer with shipbuilding or maritime industry experience to support the delivery of a new vessel construction project in Rotterdam. This role is yard-based and offers an immediate or flexible start ASAP

 

This opportunity is ideal for a Project Manager with a strong background in shipbuilding, marine engineering, or offshore construction, who has experience managing CAPEX projects valued up to approximately โ‚ฌ20 million. You will join during the execution phase and take ownership of the project through to delivery and commissioning.

Duration: 12-month contract (with potential for permanent employment)

Essential Skills

5โ€“10+ years of Project Management experience within shipbuilding, marine, or offshore engineering

Background in Mechanical, Marine, or Electrical Engineering

Proven track record managing yard-based or dockyard projects (new build, conversion, or refit)

Experience managing the full project lifecycle: design, procurement, construction, outfitting, testing, and commissioning

Strong stakeholder management and reporting capabilities

Fluent in English (Dutch language skills are a strong advantage)

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate the performance of engineering, production, and subcontractor teams

Monitor project progress, budget, and planning, ensuring delivery within scope and quality standards

Prepare and present progress and financial reports to senior management

Define and manage project organization, including allocation of responsibilities across engineering, planning, and production

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and class requirements

Report directly to the Project Department Manager and collaborate closely with yard and engineering teams
