Job Role – Site Manager

Industry – Renewable Energy (Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS)

Duration – Long‑term (initial 12 months, extensions expected)

Location – South‑East Sweden

Rate – Per/Month paid in €

Type of Role – Freelance

Languages – English proficiency required (B2 minimum)

 

g2 are supporting an international EPC to recruit a Freelance Site Manager to oversee 3 specialised BESS construction projects (each ranging from 20–30 MW) located across South‑East Sweden. The successful candidate must have delivered at least 2 BESS projects as a Site Manager, each larger than 5 MW.

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day‑to‑day site management across all BESS construction phases (civil, electrical, balance‑of‑plant, installation, commissioning).

• Coordinate all subcontractors and site personnel to ensure safe, timely and compliant project execution.

• Ensure all activities comply with project specifications, method statements, HSE requirements, Swedish grid standards, and BESS OEM installation guidelines.

• Manage construction quality, site progress reporting, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and daily/weekly site documentation.

• Lead site logistics, materials tracking, and ensure adherence to construction schedules across all 3 project locations.

 

Requirements:

• Completed qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or an equivalent technical background.

• Mandatory: Proven experience as a Site Manager on a minimum of 2 BESS projects, each >5 MW.

• Strong understanding of HV/MV works, civil interfaces, battery containers, PCS/inverters, and grid connection processes.

• Demonstrated knowledge of Swedish construction/HSE standards (or strong EU‑equivalent experience).

• Right to work in Sweden + ability to be full‑time on‑site in the South‑East region.
