Site Manager · Wind Turbine Project · Freelance

We are currently supporting a major wind turbine construction project in Germany and are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a freelance basis.

Position: Site Manager – Wind Turbine Project

Location: Germany

Start Date: January

Duration: 12 months (freelance/contract)

Language Requirement: Strong English skills (German is a plus but not required)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations on site during wind turbine installation
  • Coordinate subcontractors, technicians, HSE personnel, and project teams
  • Ensure construction activities follow schedule, quality standards, and safety protocols
  • Liaise with project management and provide regular progress updates
  • Manage on-site documentation, reporting, and compliance procedures

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager/Site Lead on wind turbine or large-scale renewable energy projects
  • Strong understanding of construction, installation, and commissioning processes
  • Ability to work independently and manage multi-disciplinary teams
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in Germany as a freelancer (EU or valid work rights)

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
