Freelance Site Project Manager | Rail | Germany
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects across Germany on a long-term contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading rail contractor involved in large-scale railway construction works, with a strong pipeline of projects and the potential for contract extensions.
Location: Germany
Duration: 12+ Months
Rate: Competitive Daily Rate (DOE)
Start Date: Immediate / Flexible
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of rail projects, ensuring all works are completed in accordance with programme, quality, and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day site operations across rail infrastructure projects.
- Coordinating subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and client standards.
- Managing site productivity and programme delivery.
- Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and progress meetings.
- Reviewing RAMS and implementing safe systems of work.
- Monitoring quality standards and ensuring works are completed to specification.
- Reporting progress, risks, and resource requirements to the Project Manager.
Requirements:
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- Proven experience working as a Site Manager within the rail sector.
- Experience delivering track, civils, stations, electrification, or railway infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality management.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Experience working on Deutsche Bahn (DB) or major European rail projects is highly desirable.
- Fluent German and/or English language skills.
- Relevant construction and safety qualifications.
