Test Engineer – Warehouse Robotics (PLC Focus) 

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join a cutting-edge warehouse robotics project within the Logistics Sector to start in Feb. The role is primarily focused on the configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of PLCs that control automated machinery. You will play a key part in ensuring systems are correctly set up, tested, and optimized for reliable performance in a high-tech warehouse environment.

Employment Type: Freelance – Contract until end of 2026 (Extension for 6 months likely)

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot PLCs for robotic and automated machinery
  • Perform static checks, functional tests, and system-level validation of PLC-controlled equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC-related issues during commissioning and operation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure correct integration of PLCs with mechanical and robotic systems
  • Document test results, configurations, and troubleshooting steps in line with project protocols
  • Identify and report anomalies or malfunctions, providing clear technical feedback
  • Follow all SOPs, safety procedures, and project guidelines on site
  • Maintain and calibrate testing instruments and PLC programming tools as required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with PLC configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Background in testing or commissioning of automated machinery or industrial systems
  • Understanding of robotics, warehouse automation, or mechatronics equipment
  • High attention to detail with the ability to follow structured procedures and document results accurately
  • Strong awareness of safety practices in industrial or warehouse environments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous involvement in warehouse automation, robotics, or logistics systems
  • Familiarity with PLC programming software, data logging tools, or test management systems
  • Background in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or system integration projects
