We are expert technical recruiters, specialising within the Web Development & IT, Engineering, Energy, Public Sector and Life Sciences Sectors.
In 2004, two recruiters set up a business in Bristol in order to service the need for a customer-focused niche recruitment consultancy.
With a growing trend towards large, generic recruitment agencies that focused on senior appointments and entry level hires, g2 were perfectly placed to help the technical teams that were desperate to source the highly skilled talent they needed to deliver their projects.
Two of the key problems that face our clients are the shortage of highly skilled staff and the lack of recruiters with a genuine specialisation in a sector.
To counteract this, g2 was created and each of our consultants in our industries was tasked with a narrow, specific market. They were set the objective of becoming an expert in their field, knowing the best local candidates and clients in that specific location and industry.
Through building an industry leading database and staying true to the organic growth model, a culture of excellence was maintained and a simple but rigorous approach to recruitment proved effective enough to separate g2 from its many competitors.
Today, these principles remain, but with considerable investment and offices across the UK and Europe g2 has become a well-respected firm with international pedigree.

Our Board of Directors

James Gorfin
James started his recruitment career in 1997 with a multinational recruitment company and within two years became the highest fee earning consulting in a Calendar year in that company’s history. James progressed rapidly through the ranks, taking responsibility for the South West of England region, turning it into one of the most profitable Divisions of that company.
With this experience, James founded Bristol-based g2 Recruitment Solutions in 2004 in response to market demand for flexible solutions to the chronic skills shortages across the IT and Engineering sectors. The business grew consistently under James’s stewardship, with a second brand, Vivid Resourcing, founded in 2008. Vivid subsequently moved to London in 2009 and the Group further extended its footprint with additional offices in Manchester and Houston in 2014.
In response to a period of suppressed growth, James was instrumental in the formation of the Executive Board in 2016, progressively moving responsibility for the control of strategy and governance to the Executive Directors. In the period since this change, the Group has grown rapidly throughout the UK, US and Europe, growing heads from 150 to 400 and offices to 21, globally.
In 2018, James formally became the Chairman of the Group, acting as a sounding board and mentor to the wider Executive Board.
As Chairman, Founder and majority shareholder, James is immensely proud of the Group’s achievements and of the solutions provided to our clients and candidates. Over its history, the Group has maintained the strong and clear fundamentals introduced by James back in 2004, combining an elite performance culture with a solutions-led, customer centric approach to deliver where others cannot.

Colin Martin
Colin has been the CEO of G2V since 2019, having joined the Group in 2015 as the GFD and brings extensive leadership experience in scaling businesses.
He has worked across a range of sectors, in the UK and internationally. He is responsible for the Group’s strategy and providing advice and guidance to his fellow board members and senior managers.

Tim Pereira
Tim is Managing Director of g2 Recruitment and has been in this role since 2019.
He initially joined g2 in 2008 as a Recruitment Consultant and then joined the g2V Board of Directors as Sales Director in 2016 before taking on his new role three years later. He is now responsible for the overall g2 Recruitment strategy across UK and Europe encompassing our 11 offices and circa 150 Recruitment Consultants.
He has first-hand experience across all levels of the hierarchy in Sales and is now responsible for overseeing all activity for g2 across their 4 UK sites and is tasked with the continued growth of the business across the UK and further into Europe.

Sam Bell
Prior to joining G2V Group in July 2021, Sam spent 10 years at KPMG, where he moved into the firm’s Corporate Finance practice.
Sam is responsible for financial strategies and activities across G2V, prioritising the modernisation of the Group’s finance infrastructure.
This enables Sam to support our market leading growth and improve the user experience for both candidates and clients alike.

Ryan Morrow
Ryan has developed multiple business areas, encouraging G2V Group’s diversity and growth.
He is responsible for our global operational functions; supporting the business through its expansion worldwide and ensuring the operational strategy supports G2V as it continues to strive for greatness.
Our Awards
The recruitment sector is incredibly competitive and highly saturated, so when g2 were founded in 2004 it was always going to be an uphill climb to stand out. Due to excellent standards and an under-dog spirit, the business has grown at an average of 20% year on year, a trajectory maintained to this day.
As a result, g2 has understandably been recognised for this success, picking up string of awards for achievements, both in the UK and internationally over the years for categories such as company culture and fastest growth.
