The Recruitment Challenge
Providing a global engineering firm with highly skilled engineers to a tight timescale, multiple payroll requirements and to two countries simultaneously.
g2 was contacted by one of our clients that needed to deploy teams engineers in South Africa and Norway simultaneously and at a weeks notice, as they had just won two multi-million pound contracts. In addition to this, the engineers needed highly specialised skill sets and unique payroll solutions and insurances for each location.
The g2 Solution
After taking an in-depth brief, a planner, quality engineer and multiple mechanical and electrical engineers would be needed to deliver the work for each contract. As time was short and our consultant was able to display a good understanding of the roles, g2 conducted the 1st stage interviews. Three lead engineers were chosen because of their previous work through g2 and the remaining four were from our database and fully reference checked as standard. To ensure complete commitment, all were subject to rigorous qualification and closing process at g2. Through our network of payroll providers, compliant payroll systems and the correct insurances were put in place well in advance at no extra cost to the client.
The Result
The following 10 months of project work was delivered on time in both Norway and South Africa. This would be the beginning of our client winning more contracts with their client over the next 18 months, allowing them to grow their UK office by 8 permanent heads, as well as hiring a global sales manager and building a commercial team. g2 recruited all of these staff and continued to supplement their project teams with contract staff with the same due diligence as when we first worked together, resulting in g2 becoming the sole supplier, a position we maintain to this day. It is worth noting that at the time g2 began working with this client, they were talking with five other agencies. Due to the quality of our database, ability to get to the heart of the requirements, candidate management and the speed of our delivery, not one placement was made by the other companies.
